Erica Saenz was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley of deep South Texas, in a small town named Edinburg, for those of you familiar with the area. Erica discovered a love for the arts at a very early age and has been developing her talents and honing her acting skills ever since. It all started with the lead role of Mother during her Kindergarten year at William B. Travis. The production of Peter Rabbit started it all. O.K.- so it was a little play/skit thing that she doesn’t even remember. She probably got the part because she could keep from peeing longer than the other kids; we were all involved in some sort of elementary school art show at some point or another. With sixth grade came the option to take Theatre Arts as an elective, so that was an obvious next step. Then came Junior High School productions then High School productions, UIL competitions, then college….you get the idea.

The University of Texas at Austin, is where Erica chose to continue her training, receiving a BA in Theatre with an acting concentration in May 1998. Also in 1998, Erica became a founding member of the Latino Comedy Project, Austin’s critically acclaimed sketch-comedy troupe. As an LCP troupe member for almost four years, Erica is a regular contributor as a writer and performer. She was recognized recently by the Austin Critics Table as the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy in 2000-01 and also by the B. Iden Payne Awards Nominating Committee as an Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy for 2000-01. In September of 2001, Erica and her husband made the move to Los Angeles, where she is now continuing to build her acting career. Erica’s career track was laid out early in life and no matter the obstacles, she has never lost sight of the path.
